Dr. David Alvarez-Ponce
I joined James’ lab after completing my PhD in Barcelona, under the supervision of Julio Rozas and Montserrat Aguadé, entitled “Evolutionary genomics of the insulin/TOR signal transduction pathway in insects and vertebrates”. I hold a B.Sc. degree in Biology from University of Barcelona, and I am currently finishing a degree in Computing Science in the Open University of Catalonia.
Main interests:
- How natural selection shapes the variability of genes and genomes.
- How molecular networks evolve, and how the evolution of genes depends on the position they occupy in molecular pathways and networks.
- The origin of eukaryotes.
